The 12th Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum to be Held

On November 25 (Sun.), 2018, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Japan-China Economic Association, jointly with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Commerce, China, will hold the 12th Japan-China Energy Conservation and Environment Forum in Beijing, China. This is a public-private joint forum between Japan and China in the fields of energy and the environment.

The forum will provide keynote speeches by public and private leaders from Japan and China, a project-document exchange ceremony, and working sessions in which participants will exchange views concerning experiences and policy challenges in energy conservation-related environmental issues in which Japan and China are commonly interested.

The forum aims to promote the realization of specific cooperative projects by the public and private sectors in Japan and China and the mutual understanding among authorities in both countries, and serve as an important platform on which Japan and China can cooperate in the fields of energy conservation and the environment.

At the forum, public and private leaders in Japan and China will deliver messages concerning the approaches to advancing mutually-beneficial cooperation in the fields of energy conservation and the environment. The issues concerning energy conservation and the environment are common challenges that Japan and China are facing. Increased cooperation between the two countries in these fields is expected to bring about great benefits to both Japan and China.
