In addition, the two countries are progressively building cooperative relations led by industry and academia, and in February this year, representatives from the industrial and academic sectors of Japan and Thailand signed a Memorandum on Inauguration of the Japan-Thailand Smart Industrial Safety Consortium.

Against this background, on June 25th, METI and MOI held a Japan-Thailand Policy Dialog on Smarter Industrial Security In order to further enhance the safety and efficiency of plants and other facilities in Thailand through the use of AI, IoT, and other technologies, the two ministries agreed to continue technical cooperation in more practical terms.

Details of the cooperation under the MOC

Highlights of the cooperation include convening Japan-Thailand policy dialogs on smart industrial security, developing human resources in the field of smart industrial security, and support for the activities of the Japan-Thailand Smart Industrial Safety Consortium.

The cooperation based on this MOC is expected to contribute to continually enhancing the safety and efficiency of plants and other facilities in Thailand by taking advantage of AI, IoT, and other technologies.
