On February 19 (Wed.), 2020, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will hold a symposium in order to share with participants the current situations in Japan and Thailand concerning the introduction of smart industrial safety measures and the future prospects therefor, and to further enhance Japan-Thailand collaboration in the field of industrial safety.
Purpose of the symposium:
- With the introduction of smart industrial safety measures as one of the prioritized fields stipulated in the Connected Industries policy, METI has been advancing efforts for improving safety as well as efficiency and productivity in plants and other facilities by taking advantage of Japan’s cutting-edge technologies, e.g., IoT, AI and big data.
- In June 2018, METI and the Ministry of Industry, Thailand, concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation on Strengthening the Smart Industrial Safety System in Thailand, aiming to encourage Thailand to acquire and analyze data on plants in the country, improve such safety in such plants as well as their efficiency and productivity, and enhance Japan-Thailand cooperation ties, by taking advantage of Japan’s smart safety technologies.
- Under the MOC, on February 19 (Wed.), 2020, METI will hold a symposium in order to share with participants the current situations in Japan and Thailand concerning the introduction of smart industrial safety measures and the future prospects therefor, and also to further strengthen Japan-Thailand collaboration through safety.
