On March 24 (Wed.), 2021, Mr. Kajiyama Hiroshi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, held a teleconference with H.E. Jennifer M. Granholm, United States Secretary of Energy.
At the meeting, Minister Kajiyama introduced Japan’s Green Growth Strategy, the industrial policy that will realize the challenging goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Furthermore, they exchanged views on promoting cooperation in the energy sector between Japan and the US, including on innovation such as next generation technology, hydrogen, CCUS/Carbon Recycling and nuclear power, and cooperation in third countries in the Asia-pacific region.
