Aiming to deepen and expand Japan-U.K. industrial cooperation, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the United Kingdom, held the Third Japan-U.K. Industrial Policy Dialogue on February 18, 2020, in Tokyo.
Outline of the dialogue: The dialogue was held with Mr. Tanaka Shigehiro, Vice-Minister for International Affairs of METI, Mr. Alex Chisholm, Permanent Secretary for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and several other officials.
Participants held discussions based on the briefings made on the progress of the respective working groups for space, aviation, energy and climate change, advanced manufacturing, and bio-economy. In addition, they exchanged views on Japan-U.K. cooperation in a variety of fields, including healthcare and support measures for startups.
