Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue between METI and Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry Launched

On May 25, 2022, the Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue was launched between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry in order to make more realistic efforts based on the ASIA-Japan Investing for the Future Initiative (AJIF).

Outline of the Public-Private Dialogue

On May 25, the Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue was launched at the meeting between Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Dr. TAN See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Singapore.

The purpose of the Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue is to promote cooperation to materialize the ASIA-Japan Investing for the Future Initiative (AJIF), which was launched by Minister Hagiuda in January. Through the exchange of views at the Japan-Singapore Economic Dialogue, the two countries aim to promote cooperation in areas such as the resilience of the supply chain and digitalization, and to improve the business environment and other items that facilitate such cooperation between the two countries.
