During the week of August 22, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Office of the United States Trade Representative held the second round of meetings of the Japan-U.S. Partnership on Trade. From the viewpoint of strengthening the Japan-U.S. trade cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region as well as Japan-U.S. cooperation on global agenda, they discussed trade practices in third countries, labor, digital and multilateral cooperation.

Director General MATSUO Takehiko from the Trade Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Director General NAMAZU Hiroyuki from the Economic Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Michael Beeman from the Office of the United States Trade Representative attended the meeting. From the viewpoint of strengthening the Japan-U.S. trade cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region as well as Japan-U.S. cooperation on global agenda, they discussed trade practices in third countries, labor, digital and multilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on bilateral trade issues.
